At Dabhoi Community Foundation, we believe that quality education begins with empowered and well-equipped teachers. With this vision, a five-day Teacher Readiness Training Program was successfully organized at Umeed Center, Soneshwar Park, Dabhoi, bringing together nearly 90 teachers associated with our After-School Learning Program across Dabhoi taluka and surrounding villages.

Building Strong Foundations for Effective Teaching

The training was designed to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical skills, classroom practices, and overall teaching effectiveness. Throughout the program, participants engaged in interactive sessions covering a wide range of educational topics, including:

  • Lesson planning and educational design

  • Classroom management and student engagement

  • Joyful and activity-based learning methodologies

  • Foundational literacy and numeracy

  • Value-based education

  • Child-centered teaching approaches

The sessions encouraged active participation, collaboration, and reflection, enabling teachers to enhance their understanding of modern teaching practices and their application in real classroom settings.

Hands-On Learning Through Practical Workshops

As part of the training, a special workshop was conducted in collaboration with Agastya Foundation. The workshop focused on simple, low-cost science experiments that teachers can easily implement in their classrooms to make science learning more engaging, interactive, and accessible for students.

Teachers were introduced to practical techniques that help spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and promote experiential learning among children.

Strengthening Foundational Learning

Recognizing the importance of foundational education, the training also included intensive sessions on strengthening students’ competencies in Mathematics and Gujarati Language. Teachers received practical exposure to the methodologies and activities used in Bridge Course and Prathama programs, which are designed to support students in achieving age-appropriate learning outcomes.

These sessions provided educators with effective tools and strategies to address learning gaps and improve student performance in foundational subjects.

Collaborative Learning and Professional Growth

A key highlight of the program was the opportunity for teachers to share their experiences, challenges, ideas, and best practices. Through group discussions and collaborative activities, participants exchanged valuable insights from their educational journeys.

Special attention was also given to identifying and addressing challenges faced by teachers during their academic work. Facilitators worked closely with participants to discuss practical solutions and support mechanisms that can enhance teaching effectiveness and classroom outcomes.

A Collective Commitment to Better Education

The enthusiastic participation of nearly 90 teachers reflected their dedication to continuous learning and their commitment to providing quality education to children in their communities. The training served not only as a platform for professional development but also as an opportunity to strengthen the network of educators working towards a common goal of improving educational outcomes in rural areas.

Looking Ahead

At Dabhoi Community Foundation, we remain committed to investing in teacher development as a cornerstone of educational transformation. By equipping educators with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need, we aim to create meaningful and lasting learning experiences for every child we serve.

Together, we continue building stronger classrooms, stronger teachers, and brighter futures.
