Celebrating the Spirit of Independence: 15 August 2026

On the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, Dabhoi Community Foundation came together with children, educators, families, and communities across its centres to celebrate the spirit of freedom, unity, and patriotism.
The celebrations were organised across all DCF centres, reaching children and communities across 48 villages. The day was filled with the colours of the Tricolour, joyful activities, cultural performances, patriotic songs, speeches, and moments that encouraged children to understand the meaning and responsibility of being a citizen of a free India.
At different centres, children participated enthusiastically in flag-hoisting ceremonies, patriotic performances, drawing and creative activities, speeches, group presentations, and cultural programmes. Many children dressed in the colours of the national flag, carried the Tricolour with pride, and expressed their love for the country through songs, performances, and artwork.
The celebrations were not only about remembering India’s journey to independence but also about helping children connect with the values that make a strong nation — freedom, equality, unity, responsibility, and respect for one another.
From classrooms and community centres to neighbourhood gatherings across our 48-village network, the Tricolour brought everyone together. Children, teachers, volunteers, and community members participated with enthusiasm, creating a shared sense of pride and belonging.
At Dabhoi Community Foundation, we believe that celebrating national occasions with children is an opportunity to nurture confidence, creativity, civic awareness, and a sense of responsibility. This Independence Day, our communities came together to celebrate not only the freedom we have inherited, but also the responsibility we carry to build a more inclusive, educated, and empowered India.
Together, we celebrated freedom. Together, we celebrated unity. Together, we celebrated India.
