Celebrating International Women’s Day 2025: Empowered Women, Equal Rights, and Development

March 8th is a day of celebration, reflection, and action—International Women’s Day. It is a day when we come together to honor the achievements, struggles, and contributions of women worldwide. In 2025, under the theme "For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment," we continue to strive for a future where gender equality is not just a dream but a reality.

In Dabhoi, the Dabhoi Community Foundation (DCF) marked this special occasion w of programs aimed at raising awareness, empowering women, and highlighting their rights and significance in society. Let’s take a closer look at how this year’s celebrations unfolded in the Dabhoi region.


Special Program at DCF Center Hira Bhagol – Dabhoi

At the DCF Center, Hira Bhagol in Dabhoi, a powerful session was held with Police Constable Head Jayaben Rathva and officers from the Women and Child Department of Vadodara-Dabhoi branch, Arunaben, Sobhana Ben, and Smita Ben. The session provided essential information on women's rights, safety measures, and how to handle issues like harassment and domestic violence.

Key topics discussed included:

  • How to handle harassment and domestic violence?

  • Effective measures for awareness and legal assistance.

  • The importance of not tolerating injustice and leading the way for a better society.

  • Steps towards building self-confidence and empowering women.

These discussions emphasized the critical need for women to be aware of their rights and the resources available to them. The empowerment of women starts with knowledge, and this session proved to be a vital platform for many to learn how to protect themselves and take charge of their well-being.

Special Discussion at Umeed Center (Soneshwar Park)

The Umeed Center, located at Soneshwar Park, was the venue for another impactful event. The discussion focused on the challenges women face daily and how they can overcome these hurdles to improve their quality of life. The session was an interactive and open dialogue where women shared their experiences and solutions for the betterment of their lives.

A special screening of the "Housewife" documentary was also held, emphasizing the themes of dignity, equality, and the importance of women’s development. The documentary highlighted real-life stories of women striving for independence and recognition.

One of the key messages shared by the attendees was clear: “Everyone deserves equal rights and opportunities for growth.” This sentiment resonated deeply with all participants, reaffirming the importance of unity and collective effort in bringing about change.

Health and Government Scheme Awareness at Sitpur Vasahat Center

In collaboration with the Manav Sadhna Organization, DCF organized an awareness session at the Sitpur Vasahat-Dabhoi center. This session focused on educating women and young girls about their health and rights, as well as informing them about various government schemes designed to assist them in their daily lives.

The major government schemes covered included:

  • Widow National Family Assistance Scheme – Financial aid for widows.

  • Vahli Dikri Scheme – Assistance of up to ₹1 lakh for daughters' futures.

  • Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme – Special savings plan for girls.

  • Niradhar Vruddh Sahay Yojana – Pension scheme for elderly women.

  • E-Shram Card Scheme – Benefits for workers in the unorganized sector.

  • Vay Vandana Scheme – Pension scheme for citizens above 60 years.

  • Ayushman Card Scheme – Health assistance up to ₹5 lakh.

These schemes are designed to provide financial and social security, ensuring that women from all walks of life have access to resources that support their well-being and independence.

Awareness Campaign at DCF Educational Centers

To ensure that the next generation of leaders understands the importance of gender equality, DCF organized an awareness campaign at 31 villages and 4 educational centers in Dabhoi, reaching over 2500 children. The campaign included:

  • Discussions with students on the significance of women in society.

  • The role of education and self-confidence in empowering women.

  • How small changes in daily life can lead to greater gender equality in society.

The future of gender equality lies in the hands of the youth, and by educating them about the importance of women’s contributions and rights, we are laying the foundation for a more equitable society.

Active Participation of 250 Women

A total of 250 women from the Dabhoi region actively participated in the events organized by DCF, showing that women are eager to take part in conversations about their rights, empowerment, and development. Their involvement in this movement is crucial, as it shows that empowerment is not just a matter of legal and social change, but also a personal journey of growth and confidence.
