Teacher Training: A New Step Toward Strengthening Educational Preparedness

Under the Educational Preparedness Program of the Dabhoi Community Foundation (DCF), after-school learning support is being provided at 3 centers in Dabhoi town and around 35 village centers across the taluka. To further strengthen the quality of teaching in these centers, a comprehensive post-Diwali Teacher Training Program was organized, focusing on enhancing both teaching skills and classroom effectiveness.

Holistic Training for Better Learning

The training was thoughtfully designed to cover the essential foundations of teaching. Key topics included:

• Child Psychology – Understanding how children think, learn, and respond.

• Subject Expertise – Strengthening teachers’ conceptual clarity.

• Importance of Teaching Materials – Using tools and resources to simplify learning.

• Language Readiness – Building strong linguistic foundations.

• Children’s Songs & Stories – Making learning joyful and engaging.

Teachers also shared the real challenges they face during teaching, followed by practical, experience-based solutions provided by the trainers.

Training Led by Experts

To ensure quality, M.Ed. students from Gujarat Vidyapith were invited as facilitators.Through clear demonstrations and interactive sessions, they guided teachers on:

• How to effectively reach students

• How to simplify complex topics

• How to make classroom learning more engaging and enjoyable

Subject Training on Mathematics & English

In collaboration with the Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation, Ahmedabad, an intensive subject-specific training was conducted under the Bridge Course Project.

• 23 teachers and 2 team leaders participated in this six-day training.

• The sessions focused on strengthening skills in Mathematics and English teaching.

• An end-of-training assessment helped teachers evaluate their own learning and growth.
