To enhance the quality and effectiveness of the Afterschool Programs running across various villages and urban areas in dabhoi, the Dabhoi Community Foundation (DCF) organized a 6-day intensive teacher training program from May 26 to May 31, 2025. This effort was part of DCF’s continued mission to ensure every learning center offers consistent and impactful education.
80 teachers actively participated in this training, which was designed using the teaching model of the Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation. The program aimed to strengthen subject knowledge, teaching techniques, and child engagement strategies.
🔍 Key Highlights of the Training:
Pre-assessment Exams: Before training began, teachers underwent evaluations to determine their current level. Based on the results, they were grouped into subject-specific or refresher modules.
Diverse Learning Tracks:
Regular Modules: Covered English and Math up to Level 60 and 35 respectively.
Refresher Courses: Focused on foundational methods like L2R (Learn to Read), L2W (Learn to Write), L2A (Learn to Arithmetic), and L2E (Learn to English).
Day-wise Breakdown:
Day 1: Advanced English (Levels 21–30) with emphasis on practical understanding and teaching methods.
Day 2–5: Skill-based group training sessions focusing on grammar, vocabulary, arithmetic operations, sentence formation, WH questions, and real-life math applications using games and activities.
Day 6: Review and reflection. Teachers shared their learnings, took final assessments, and discussed responsibilities for the future.
🤝 Support and Collaboration:
DCF’s experienced in-house trainers and expert educators from the Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation played a pivotal role in delivering the content. Daily meals and refreshments were thoughtfully arranged to ensure a comfortable and focused environment.
